OnePlus, Xiaomi, Meizu – Who Is in the Lead?


Ours is a world filled with up and coming gadgets equipped with state of the art construction. While many companies including Apple and Samsung have already established their names as some of the leading brands in the market, it cannot be denied that these lesser-known corporations have something to boast about, either.

These brands are slowly making it in the tech industry because of their distinct user interface and performance. Even some of these brands, as others would say, can also beat the top names in the industry. Hence, it is only proper to get to know some of these brands.

For this article, we are going to be acquainted with three mobile phone brands that have already proven themselves to be successful in the market. We are going to identify the strengths and weaknesses of OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Meizu. From here, we can gauge which among these brands is the lead.



In terms of performance, the three mentioned brands of mobile phones have an octa-core or dual quad-core processors. These are modern processors that have two sets of quad-core processors, hence the name octa which means eight. This means that whichever of the three brands you are going to choose, you can multitask and perform different activities in a single instance.

Moreover, it is worth noting that Xiaomi and OnePlus have 6 GB RAM. Meizu, on the other hand, has a 4 GB RAM.



Regarding display, all of them have the same full HD screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The three brands have multi-touch and capacitive touchscreens, making it easy to navigate these phone brands. While they have similarities, these brands have more differences as far as display is concerned.

A specific model of Meizu has a screen to body ratio of 71.27% and a screen size of 5.2 inches. On the other hand, a Xiaomi phone has a 5.15-inch screen size and a screen to body ratio of 71.41%. OnePlus has the largest screen to body ratio with 72.81%. It also has 5.5 inches of screen size.



As far as storage is concerned, the three brands are similar. Based on representative models of these cellular phones, the internal memory is 64 GB. It is worth noting, however, that expandable memory is not available in any of the three phones.



When scrutinizing their camera features, we have come to realize that they differ in terms of a lot of features. For instance, the aperture of both Meizu and OnePlus could reach up to F2.0 while Xiaomi has until F1.8.

In terms of camera features, Meizu and Xiaomi have the same perks which include digital zoom, autoflash, touch to focus, and face detection. OnePlus, on the other hand, only has fixed focus. Meizu and Xiaomi have the same resolution of 4,000 x 3,000 pixels. OnePlus have a resolution of 4616 x 3464 pixels.

For Meizu and OnePlus, they both have 16 MP resolutions for their front camera. Xiaomi has an 8 MP resolution. One of the distinct features of OnePlus phones is that they have screen flashes.



Looking at the three brands of mobile phones, all of them are almost similar in terms of their battery. All of them are quick charging. They have a Li-Polymer type of battery.

Regarding battery capacity, however, they already are different. Meizu and OnePlus have 3000 mAh of battery capacity while Xiaomi has a 3350 mAh battery capacity. In one way or another, this allows the Xiaomi to be used longer than the other two because of its longer lasting battery capacity.

Finally, we discuss other features that are present in each of the brands. It is worth noting that they have more general similarities than characteristics. All of them have light sensors, proximity sensors, accelerometer, compass, and gyroscope. They could be connected to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Moreover, the three brands are dual sim, with Nano sims as their sim size.

Meizu and OnePlus phones have 3.5 mm audio jack available while the Xiaomi does not have any.

Meizu, Xiaomi, and OnePlus are different brands of phones with a lot of similar features. However, it was pointed out in this article that there are also differences which would cater to the needs of users. For those whose primary criterion is the camera, you could opt for the OnePlus phone. For those who want a longer lasting battery life, you could choose the Xiaomi brand. For those who want just the right features, you could pick the Meizu phone.
